Dr. Arup Sarmah is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Pub Kamrup College, Baihata Chariali, Assam under Gauhati University. He completed his PhD from Gauhati University in 2021 and has research experience in Biomedical Signal Processing, EEG Signal Analysis, Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Pattern Recognition.
His research contributions include several journal publications, conference papers, and book chapters in areas such as EEG signal classification, feature fusion, image retrieval, neural networks, anomaly detection, and biomedical signal analysis. His work has been published in reputed journals and conferences including IEEE conferences and Springer Lecture Notes.
He has actively participated in and presented research works at multiple national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. He has also contributed to interdisciplinary research involving computational modeling, biological signal analysis, and neural network applications.
Dr. Sarmah has more than 12 years of teaching experience and has taught courses including Data Structures, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Algorithms, and Computer Science fundamentals.
He received the National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) Travel Award for presenting research work at the conference on “Advances in Neuroimaging and its Applications in Cognitive Disorders” held at NBRC, Haryana.
